It’s soon time for WordCamp Europe. This year it’s held in Torino, June 13 – 15, and a handful of us at Krokedil will attend as visitors.

WordCamp Europe is an informal, community-organised gathering of WordPress enthusiasts – from casual users to Core developers – where we discuss all things WordPress, share ideas and get to know each other.

What to do at WordCamp Europe

There’s always a lot going on at WordCamp Europe and this year’s event will be no different. From the many talks taking place across the three days, to the chance to educate yourself by attending one of the many hands-on sessions and workshops plus networking with all the attendees.

A full schedule of sessions will allow you to choose which topics interest you. Typically there will be a broad selection of subjects aimed at all levels of WordPress knowledge and experience, following the inclusivity ethos WordPress firmly believe in. Multiple talks are run at the same time and are split into ‘tracks’.

In addition to the tracks of talks, you can meet their sponsors, from very large companies right through to smaller niche ones, who you can meet and talk to, take part in product demos and chat with employees of these companies.

You will also be able to meet people, chatting with other attendees gives you the opportunity to get to know other members of the WordPress community, someone you’ve followed on Twitter, in user groups or to catch up with a familiar face from a previous WordCamp. WCEU is the ideal place to meet friends, old and new.

Workshops and speakers

At WordCamp Europe, there’s a range of workshops taking place during the main conference – these are great opportunities for you to ‘get your hands dirty’ solving real problems and learning new skills along the way, such as coding, design or marketing.

These sessions are full-on immersive experiences where you’ll be learning whilst working on specific tasks, with the aim to support you in applying them to your daily work.

There’s also the opportunity to listen to any of the many speakers, with topics that can include anything and everything related to WordPress and the web.

See you there!
