News in Avarda Checkout

Avarda Checkout for WooCommerce is a payment plugin where simplicity, for both merchants and customers, has always been the focus. With version 1.14.0, Avarda has taken another step to further simplify things where we have introduced some smart news. Integrated shipping, improved logging and improved order management as well as better currency support. Aside from that, the plugin will also get more functions and extended compatibility later in the year.

Integrated shipping

Thanks to the Avarda Checkout integrated shipping function, you can now offer more and smoother shipping choices at checkout. As a merchant, you can easily configure a dynamic shipping method that retrieves price information and delivery options from Avarda Checkout, along with an integration with, for example, Ingrid or nShift.

When Avarda Checkout is selected as the payment method and integrated shipping is enabled, no other shipping options that you might have configured for the customer’s region are displayed in the checkout. Only the integrated shipping selector is shown. If, on the other hand, you have other payment methods activated and the customer chooses one of these, any other set shipping methods will be displayed, according to the WooCommerce standard.

When you set up integrated shipping, you also set up a fallback shipping method with a name and price. This is what will then be presented as your shipping option in cases where Avarda is unable to retreive any shipping methods from a third party.

International purchases

Avarda Checkout is available in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. By adding international keys, you as a merchant can receive payments in different currencies, not just your own currency.

This means that even if your store is set for Sweden and Swedish kronor, with international purchases enabled, you can receive orders in your customers’ local currencies outside of Sweden. Which currencies are supported by the international keys are specified in your agreement with Avarda.

Improved logging settings

Avarda Checkout now supports WooCommerce extended logging settings and log levels. This means you can set a level threshold on logging. If you e.g. set your level threshold to Warning it means that everything from Warning and up in list will be logged. Everything below the level Warning will be ignored.

The levels available are None (where everything is logged), Debug, Info, Notice, Warning, Error, Critical, Alert and Emergency.

Switch order synchronization on/off

Since version 1.13.0 of the plugin, there is also the option to turn off, or on, order synchronization in the order management. By default, order synchronization is always activated, but it is now also possible to turn off the synchronization between WooCommerce and Avarda. This is done through a setting in Avarda’s metabox on individual orders.

When synchronization is turned off, you can make changes to the WooCommerce order, such as changing order status or order lines, without these changes affecting the corresponding order in Avarda’s system.

Upsells and split deliveries

Later in the year, we will build in support for Post Purchase Upsell and Partial Delivery in Avarda Checkout.

Post Purchase Upsell for WooCommerce

Post Purchase Upsell allows the customer to add additional products to their order after they have completed a purchase. They simply choose which of the optional products they want to add and easily update their order. As a merchant, you set which products are offered. You can connect products via Cross-sells, Upsells or Post purchase upsells under Linked Products. You can also choose to offer specific products, without connection to the products the customer have just bought.

Partial Delivery for WooCommerce

Partial Delivery for WooCommerce enables merchants to split an order into multiple shipments. Via a logical interface, you can send one or more items in each delivery. This can be useful if you e.g. have products on back order. It’s also useful if you have separate warehouses or if parts of the items you sell require special deliveries.
